Network topologyLAN and SAN connectivity is separate into Cisco Nexus data plane switches and Cisco MDS SAN switches for network connectivity. The compute layer connects to Ethernet and FC components in the network layer. The FIs connect to the Cisco Nexus data plane switches through 10 GbE, 40 GbE, or 100 GbE port channels, depending on the data plane switch to which they connect.
